I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2002 with a Bachelor of Commerce, wrote and passed all professional exams required by Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2003, and obtained my Chartered Accountant designation in 2005.

I worked for 2 Big Four firms for 7 years. Prior to that, while studying at the University of Toronto, I worked for the Ontario Ministry of Finance for about a year on a part time basis. I was involved in Retail Sales Tax audits, processing tax refunds and other tax related work. That is when it became clear to me that tax is the area that interests me the most and the profession I want to pursue.

When I started working for one of the Big Four firms, I spent first 3 years in audit group. This allowed me to obtain a very good understanding of accounting and financial reporting, and this knowledge benefits me to this day.

I then moved to a tax group in one of the Big Four firms, where I stayed for about 5 years. I progressed from a role of senior tax specialist to a tax manager. My focus was mostly on Canadian corporate tax and my clients were mostly from Consumer Markets Group (meaning companies in manufacturing, retail, distribution, services). I was also involved in preparing, and then reviewing personal income tax returns for high net worth individuals. In addition, I was exposed to other areas, like international tax, sales tax, and other taxes. The experience gained there allowed me to not only become technically strong in tax, but also to be able to easily adapt to any industry or client, and to find solutions to any tax related problem. I am able to assess your situation, and perform a strategic review of your financial position and your tax filings.

After spending 5 years in the tax group in one of the Big Four, I moved on to provide services as an independent tax consultant to a very large Canadian company in the restaurant business, and to a multi- billion company providing mortgages and auto loans.
